On March 24th the community members of Lee County from all walks of life came together to exercise their first amendment in order to improve school safety. “This march has been held in order to bring together people who have been energized by the activism that has been sprouting across the United States,”said Maxwell Slafer who is a student at Cape Coral High School. From political leaders to student activists the March For Our Lives has brought together the views of the youth as well as concerned individuals of our society.
Similar to the march at Centennial Park in Fort Myers, marches have been conducted nationwide generating a sense of unity among the youth of America in working towards school safety and gun reform. “Students are taking charge and I’m glad to fall along with the wave,” said Todd James Truax who will be running for congress during the upcoming elections.
