Moses Jackson is running for Lee County School Board District 4. He is a born and bred resident of Fort Myers, and a teacher at Dunbar High School. Additionally, he is a board member of Support our Students Summer Enrichment Camp, the founder of SWFL Connect Jobs for Youth, and a member of Lee County School District’s Equity and Diversity Committee. Mr. Jackson earned his Bachelor’s of Sciences degree from Devry University, majoring in Business Management and Entrepreneurship. He began his career in the classroom working as a paraprofessional at Sunshine Elementary School, and he currently teaches vocational business technology at Dunbar High School.

Moses Jackson decided to run because, in his words, he has “always been an advocate for empowering others.” Even from five years ago, at his first job interview, Mr. Jackson’s aspirations remain the same: “to be in a position of policy development, collaboration, and influence.” He wishes “to be well oriented with the people I would represent as a board member so I went the route of starting out as a paraprofessional and then became a teacher.”

With a background in business administration, and having served in our community and our schools for years, Moses Jackson brings excellent knowledge, skills and a grounded perspective to the table. Being a graduate of Cypress Lake High School, a teacher at Dunbar High School, and now with a sixth grade son attending school, Mr. Jackson can represent all faculty and staff in Lee County, and is“fully vested with the community, in addition to fellow parents of Lee County Students.”

Upon being elected, Jackson hopes to make the biggest difference in these three areas:

Vocational Skills Development – Our students should graduate school job ready.

Resource Equity – We need fair pay for teachers and fair education for English Learners.

Mental Health – We must Increase awareness and access to social services. Our students must be present to learn emotionally, mentally, and physically.
