FDP Chair Welcomes First Lady Jill Biden to Florida
Kissimmee, FL – Today First Lady Jill Biden is coming to Kissimmee and Tampa, Florida to encourage more people to get vaccinated and to emphasize just how easy it is to get your shot thanks to the Biden Administration and the Democrats in Congress. Florida Democratic Party Chair Manny Diaz issued the following statement:
“It is such a pleasure to welcome First Lady Jill Biden to Florida to encourage more people to get vaccinated and to highlight the vaccination success we have seen so far. Thanks to President Biden’s American Rescue Plan, which not a single Republican in Congress voted for, it is easier than ever to get a COVID-19 vaccine. And now, the Biden Administration is doing the hard work to make sure that as many Americans as possible get their shot so that we can keep all of our communities safe– this is exactly the type of strong leadership that is finally getting us out of this pandemic.”
Vaccinations in Florida:
- When President Biden took office, 1.9 million vaccine doses had been given in Florida
- As of today over 20.6 million vaccine doses have been given in Florida
- Thanks to increased vaccine access, Florida is getting back to normal, safely
- People all across the state are able to visit with family and friends and socialize without fear
- COVID units are emptying out across the state, where fewer than 1,800 people are being treated for the disease statewide, compared to the late July height of about 9,500.
