From the FDP Chair’s Desk

Florida Democrats,

First of all, Happy Black History Month! Black history is American history, and the Florida Democratic Party is committed to telling stories of remarkable Black Floridians and celebrating Black history throughout the month of February.

Last weekend was our State Organizational Meeting. Thank you to everyone for putting your trust and faith in me to serve as your Chair for another term. This is a responsibility I take seriously, and I look forward to working tirelessly with you each and every day to fight to make the state we all love a better place for everyone.

Additionally, thank you to all of our newly elected State Committee people who joined us for our organization meeting. Over 400 Florida Democrats gathered together to elect our slate of State Party Officers and Florida DNC Members who convened this weekend to help elect new DNC Chair Ken Martin and Florida’s own David Hogg as DNC Vice Chair. Congratulations to all those who were newly elected and re-elected. I look forward to working with you all.

Also, huge congratulations to our Democratic nominees for the Special Elections in CD-1 and CD-6:

Josh Weil, Democratic Nominee for CD-6The general election for both CD-1 and CD-6 is on April 1, 2025. Our team will be working hand-in-glove with the nominees and DECs, Clubs, and Caucuses on the ground to make sure that we do everything we can to get out the vote during these special elections.

This past week, we saw Florida Republicans engage in civil war over a special session on immigration, while Donald Trump threw the nation into chaos – causing confusion around the freezing of federal funding and announcing tariffs that will have a drastic impact on our economy.

During these uncertain times, your Florida Democrats are going to do everything they can to make sure that Floridians know where to go for information they can trust. It is on us to make sure that we fight back against Trump’s dangerous Project 2025 agenda and begin to organize and mobilize.
