With Lee Dems, you’ll work with friendly teams, get the support you need, and help build a better Lee County.
Each team below includes a brief description followed by a link for more information and an application. Once we receive that, we will email you within the week from leecountydems@gmail.com with follow-up details and schedule a phone call to answer your questions. Students: Build your resume, get volunteer hours, and enhance your communication and organizational skills!
A/V Operator: Run the sound system, cameras and hybrid meeting interface at the Dems office. Living close to the Evan’s and Winkler area is an advantage.
Volunteers on the following teams provide the most effective way to grow Democratic turnout.
Voter Election/Protection Team: Organize 3-6 months before every election to ensure that Lee County’s voting process runs smoothly and all Democratic votes are counted. During the election, the team trains and schedules poll greeters and watchers and helps voters to cure rejected ballots. View roles and sign up.
Canvassing: Work with experienced leaders going door to door to contact new voters and register them to vote or help them enroll in Vote-By-Mail or inform them about the latest Democratic initiatives. View roles and sign up.
Phone Banking: Work from home calling voters to remind them to enroll in Vote-By-Mail or let them know about their polling place or the candidates in their district. View roles and sign up.
Precinct Leader: Organize and lead a volunteer team to welcome and maintain contact with the Democrats in your neighborhood. Serve as a leader for registration and grassroots initiatives and liaison to the Party. Work from home, alone or in a team. View roles and sign up.
Candidate Support Team: Work under the guidance of leadership both to train volunteers for and/or assist on a team to support campaigns with communications, technology, records, calendar management, as well as event planning. View roles and sign up.
Communications Team: Collaborates to develop messaging and/or design images, write and schedule content in a coordinated planning across our website, social media platforms, letters to the editor, newsletters, press releases, blogs, and podcasts. View roles and sign up.
Events Team: Organize social events, candidate forums and election events and collaborate with like-minded community organizations to enhance Democratic outreach.

Fundraising Team: Build and maintain relationships with donors and Democratic Political Action Committees. Learn and uphold election finance laws. Update the finance/events committee regarding developments to raise funds for the Party’s work. View roles and sign up.
Neighborhood Teams: Organize within their precinct, neighborhood or gated community to provide ways for Democratic voters to socialize and work together to elect Democrats. View roles and sign up.
Office Staff Team: During a non-election year, operate various home/hub offices with others. During an election year, from a central office location, lend reception and managerial support. View roles and sign up.
Rally Team: Join an energetic group of organizers helping coordinate rally participation across Lee County. Volunteers assist with scheduling, site selection, recruiting participants, first aid, donation and supply stations, sign waving, music, chant leadership, and more. View all roles and sign up
Technology Team: Design and run text, email, and robocall campaigns. Analyze the data to measure campaign effectiveness of voter engagement and election results. Assist leaders in finding effective ways to contact voters, develop software, test communications, and assist precinct leaders and neighborhood captains in contacting their voters. Voter Registration and Education Team: Work in the community to distribute candidate, event, and election information to Democratic voters. Projects may include canvassing, staffing a table at a rally or festival, dropping off literature, registering new voters, and/or identifying inactive voters and helping them to update their status.
