Vote by Mail

All Vote-by-Mail ballot requests expired on December 31, 2024. If you were previously enrolled in Vote-by-Mail and have not already re-enrolled, you must re-enroll with Lee County Elections at http://www.Lee.Vote or at 239-533-8683.

Important: Lee County Elections mails ballots about 35 days before each election. If you have your mail forwarded during the 35 days before the August and/or November election, the Post Office will not forward your ballot. You must let Lee County Elections know the forwarding address. Otherwise, it will be returned to the Elections Office as undeliverable, and your Vote-by-Mail enrollment may be cancelled.

Please see below for details showing how to check your Vote-by-Mail status, how to enroll in Vote-by-Mail, and how to change the address where you want your ballot to be mailed.

  1.  To check if you are currently enrolled in Vote-by-Mail, go to the Elections Office website www.Lee.Vote and click on Check My Voter Record in the red banner on the top of the page. Then enter your name and date of birth, check you are not a robot, and click Submit. Your Mail Ballot Status will appear under Voter Information on the left-hand side of that page.

  2. Be sure to look at your Contact Information on the right-hand side of that page. Check that your Florida Residence Address is correct. If you live in another place for part of the year, check that the listed Mailing Address is the correct mailing address when you’re away from Florida.

  3. If there is a chance you will need your ballot mailed to a different address this July or October, follow the directions below to add that address. Once that address is included in the Elections Office system, you can simply call to let them know which address to mail your ballot to. Make sure your vote counts! See the detailed instructions below.

  4. To enroll in Vote-by-Mail, go to www.Lee.Vote and click on Vote-by-Mail, then click the “Proceed” button at the bottom to fill out the online form. You can also call the Elections office at 239-533-8683.

Do you need to have your ballot mailed to a different address?

The Post Office cannot forward your Vote-by-Mail ballot, even if all your other mail is being forwarded. It will be returned to the Elections Office as undeliverable and may cancel your Vote-by-Mail enrollment.

Vote-by-Mail ballots are typically mailed 35 days before an election (July 14, 2026 for the August 18 Primary, and September 29, 2026 for the November 3 General Election).

If you will be living in another state or at another address in July and/or October 2026 you must give the Elections Office that address in advance to receive your mail ballot.

Address changes must be received by the Elections Office no later than ten (10) days before the election for which you are requesting the ballot, but earlier is better.

To verify your Mailing Address(es):

If you think you have an alternate mailing address on file with the Elections Office, you can verify it on their website www.Lee.Vote. Click on Check My Voter Record to see the Check My Voter Registration Status page.

Fill in your name (as it is shown on your driver’s license) and birthdate, check you are not a robot, and then click Submit. The Voter Information section shows if you are eligible to vote, if you’re enrolled in Vote-by-Mail, and your Party Affiliation and Precinct.

The Contact Information section shows your Residence Address (your registered voting address) and your Mailing Address (where your ballot will be mailed). Please check those are correct.

If you have your mail ballot sent to your out-of-state or “away” address, it should also show in the Contact Information section.

If your address is incorrect (such as a missing unit number), call the Elections Office at 239-533-8683 to see if they will make the change for you. You can also select the Request Address Change button which takes you to the RegistertoVoteFlorida.gov webpage to submit the change.

To add an Alternate Mailing Address

If you just need to switch between your summer and winter mailing address, it is easiest to call the Elections Office at 239-533-8683.

If the address you want your Vote-by-Mail ballot mailed to is not on file, you will have to submit a new signed Vote-by-Mail ballot request form.

Go to the Request a Vote-by-Mail Ballot page and select the Statewide Vote-by-Mail Request Form in English or Spanish. You will need your driver’s license number or the last four digits of your social security number for identification.

Fill in the form, being careful to enter both your registered voting address (the “Home Address”) and the mailing address you want the ballot sent (“Mailing Address for Ballot”). You can have more than one Mailing Address.

WRITE A NOTE ON THE FORM TO DESIGNATE WHICH ADDRESS TO USE FOR THE AUGUST PRIMARY AND WHICH TO USE FOR THE NOVEMBER GENERAL ELECTION. (You can also call the Elections Office to switch this.)

Once you have completed the form, PRINT and SIGN the form. Sign it carefully — the signature must match your signature on file with the Elections Office, which is the one on your Florida driver’s license or state ID.

Return the form to the Lee Elections Office so they receive it no later than ten (10) days before the election for which you are requesting the ballot:

  • Scan (or take a picture on your phone) and email it to votebymail@lee.vote
  • Fax: 239-533-6322
  • Mail: Supervisor of Elections, P.O. Box 2545, Fort Myers, FL 33902
  • In-Person: Find the office closest to you – see lee.vote/contact-us

Wait a few days, then check the Lee Elections website to see your updated mailing address.
Call the Lee Elections office if you don’t see the new Mailing Address listed.
